Friend Support

Growing up, I will say I was a social person, but I really stayed to myself. #StrictFamily LOL When I would say someone was my friend, I would hear someone in my family say, “Everyone isn’t your friend.” It was not until I was at a really low point that I learned how truth to that statement.

Webster’s defines friend as a person who you like and enjoy being with. A friend is so much more. Friends see things in you that you don’t see in yourself. They support and uplift you. They are, at times, the voice of reason. I know my circle of friends have decreased, but my support system has become so much stronger. They have caused me to look and press for more. When I have had doubt, they have prayed with me. When I have had lost in my family, I know they are a phone call away.

Friend support is just as important as family support for me. I would hope that my family supports my goals. It’s just as important to have someone from outside the bloodline to support. They are normally more open and honest. They can also see things from a different view. I am so thankful for my friend support.
